Robert was the president from 2009-2011. The BVABA meets Monday evenings every other month and the meetings are always informative. Another great resource for beginning, intermediate and advanced beekeepers. Attend a meeting and you'll get to know some of the most knowledgeable beekeepers anywhere!
Burgh Bees
A great site for Allegheny County & Pittsburgh-area beekeepers. Burgh Bees offers beginning and advanced beekeeping classes and host a beekeepers' meet up the last Tuesday of the month. (NOTE: You don't have to be a beekeeper to come!) They also manage a Google Discussion Group, which is a great resource for new (and old!) beekeepers. Click on the link for details.
Country Barn Farm
The website for Master Beekeeper, Joe Zgurzynski's farm and apiary. Joe is also the local distributor for Brushy Mountain bee supplies and is an amazing resource. He's a second generation beekeeper--and raising the third generation!
Meadow Sweet Apiaries
The website for Master Beekeeper and Burgh Bees President, Steve Repasky. Steve's not only a great friend, he's an encyclopedia of knowledge about all things honey bees. Right now, he's working on a book about swarming. You can find Steve (and his delicious honey) at the St. James Farmers' Market in Sewickley on the last Saturday of the month when the market is running.
LOCAL FOOD ORGANIZATIONS AND LINKS
Local Goodness: Founder Rhonda Schuldt offers recipes made with local ingredients, tours of area farmers' markets and much more. She also writes a regular column for Table Magazine, which "celebrates food culture and lifestyle in Pittsburgh and Southwestern PA."
Slow Food Pittsburgh: Sponsors many great events, tastings and classes in the area as well as the Farmers at the Firehouse farmers' market in the Strip District (Pittsburgh's only mostly organic farmers' market).

Pennsylvania State Beekeepers' Association
Our state organization, which advocates for beekeepers, tracks state legislation, sponsors the PA Honeybee Queen, organizes local beekeeping groups, offers programs and plans a great annual picnic!

PLACES THAT SELL OUR HONEY
We are very small-scale backyard beekeepers and don't produce enough honey to supply a grocery store or other larger outlet. Two wonderful galleries in Pittsburgh often have our honey. Call first to see if they have a supply!
